Afternoon Session
Year 1 1-00pm – 3-15pm
School bell rings at 8-45am
Children in Key Stage 1 enter school through the main school gates with their adult and wait on the playground until the bell rings at 8-45am. Class teacher will come out at 8:45am to greet the children and take them into school.
If, for whatever reason, you cannot collect your child from school and you nominate another person who is on the school contact form, please ensure that you inform the school as we cannot release a child to someone else if we have not previously been informed. This will prevent any unnecessary upset for all concerned; as it is essential the child’s welfare comes first.
Absence
Any absence affects the pattern of a child’s schooling and regular absence will seriously affect their learning. Any pupil’s absence disrupts teaching routines so may affect the learning of others in the same class.
Ensuring your child’s regular attendance at school is your legal responsibility and permitting absence from school without a good reason creates an offence in law and may result in prosecution. If your child is absent please contact the school office by 8:30am.
Lateness
Poor punctuality is not acceptable therefore at least once a term we will tell you the number of minutes of education your child has missed. If your child misses the start of the day they can miss work and do not spend time with their class teacher. It is in this period they receive vital information and news for the day. Late arriving pupils also disrupt lessons, which can be embarrassing for the child and can also encourage absence.
Any parents/carers arriving with their children after 8.50am will find the door /gate closed. They will then need to take their child to the main school office.
